Stars’N'Bars Around The World

Monaco’s head of state PRINCE ALBERT II was on hand to cut the ribbon at our Abu Dhabi project, the first new restaurant in our new international franchise.

WHERE IT STARTED The original STARSNBARS restaurant in Monaco was created in 1993 by American Kate Powers and Didier Rubiolo of France.   Both had been partners at Monaco’s Le Texan Restaurant  which had been the principality’s first American restaurant (the restaurant’s name came from Prince Rainier himself).    Le  Texan , popular for its excellent Tex Mex cuisine, fast, attentive service and its cozy atmosphere, catered  to a varied clientele from local families and ordinary working  people to millionaires and celebrities.   Kate and Didier, however, wanted to create a larger family-oriented venue with a sports theme  and the result was STARSNBARS on the Port of Monaco.

KATE AND DIDIER

The  largest privately owned restaurant in Monaco, STARSNBARS was originally an old, abandoned warehouse .   SNB is now a three story entertainment complex with portside terrace and offers a full-service restaurant with American cuisine, an authentic USA style sports bar, a second full service restaurant serving Asian cuisine, an extensive game arcade, supervised children’s playroom, professional race car simulators  and one of the most extensive celebrity sports museums in the world.        And, each May, the restaurant is neighbor  to the Monaco Grand Prix “paddocks” where the greatest Formula 1 drivers  and their teams set up headquarters during the four day  racing event. Plus,  throughout the year, the restaurant hosts  a multitude of film, music and sport celebrities.

THE NEXT BIG STEP After more than 20 years of serving Monaco customers, Kate and Didier are now ready to serve  Monaco around the world with a new restaurant franchise . Two new restaurants will open this autumn in Dubai Marina and at  the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Track and Marina.  And, the MONTE CARLO STARS GROUP in Dubai are now exploring  other international markets which match Monaco’s unique blending of luxury, leisure and leadership.

The new STARSNBARS model celebrates the most exciting aspects of the principality and the glamour of the sports, film and music celebrities who flock to Monte Carlo.

Like STARSNBARS, the decor of the new restaurants will capture the spirit of international sports such as racing, tennis and yachting but it will also celebrate the cultural and social aspects of the principality, Individual sections of the restaurant will host non-stop audio-visual presentations promoting Monaco news, events, charities and activities, including a focus on Prince Albert II’s leadership in protecting the environment.  Accordingly,  each restaurant will be designed to optimize materials and procedures that reduce energy  and water waste, encourage recycling and educate employees and customers on how to conserve our precious natural resources.

The food served  duplicates  the most popular dishes on the STARSNBARS menu which features steaks, burgers, Tex Mex, salads, pizzas and sandwiches.  All dishes are prepared to the highest standards and served  « royally » by staff rigorously trained in the friendly, attentive American-style service which has been an important part of STARSNBARS’ success.

And like STARSNBARS, the new restaurants  offer a variety of menus, games and parties for children who continue to be the big consumer decision-makers in the family when it comes to eating out.  Children have a choice of healthy meals especially designed for them and each restaurant will feature  supervised play areas  featuring toys, art activities, movies, face painting and video games.  Older « kids » will also enjoy  simulated race car driving in our RACEROOM facility as well as viewing international sports matches broadcast on multiple television screens strategically placed throughout the restaurant.  Plus, customers can enjoy old movies and even relive the thrill of past Monte Carlo care races!

Kate and Didier and the MONTE CARLO STARS GROUP plan to open restaurants in various countries through joint ventures, master franchises and individually-owned franchises.  They were honored by the presence of HSH Prince Albert at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their Abu Dhabi site and will continue to work with important Monaco institutions to proudly present the most positive, exciting and progressive image of our principality around the world.
